Offering brilliant trekking in one of the most picturesque landscapes of Upper Austria, Salzburg and Styria this package a perfect alpine getaway. We hike over alpine meadows and up to the glaciers and summit of the Dachstein, 2995m. A short and easy Via Ferrata leads up to the steep summit of the Dachstein. The glaciers are small but crevassed. The later Via Ferratas are up to Grade D (very difficult) but are entirely optional, and you can choose the route according to individual client ability.

Itinerary

Day 1	Gosausee - Hofpürgl Hütte Walking time: 5 hours / Ascent: 200m / Descent: 200m By car we go from Salzburg to Lake Gosau (1h 15min). A cable car takes us up to the Gosaukamm, a rough and pointy mountain ridge. From here we start the trekking via the Stuhl Alm to the Hofpürgl Hut.
Day 2	Hofpürgl Hütte - Adamek Hütte Walking time: 6 hours / Ascent: 700m / Descent: 400m We start from the Hofpürgl Hütte in the morning and walk over alpine meadows to the "Linzer Scharte", a Col, passing the divide towards the Adamek Hütte. The path up to the col is secured with steel cables. The landscape changes from meadows to rock. We walk over a high plateau to the Adamek Hütte.
Day 3	Adamek Hütte - Dachstein - Simony Hütte Walking time: 6 hours / Ascent: 800m / Descent: 800m Our summit day for the Dachstein. We ascend the Gosau glacier and climb the summit via the west ridge on an easy Via Ferrata (A/B). From the top we have a beautiful view from the central eastern alps in the south, to the Bohemian forest in the north. We descend via a Via Ferrata (A/B) to the Hallstätter glacier and the Simony Hütte.
Day 4	Simony Hütte - Dachstein Südwandhütte Walking time: 5 hours (+2.5 hours) / Ascent: 700m / Descent: 800m Ascending the Hallstätter glacier to the Hunnerkogel. From there we can take the cable car down to the south side, or climb down a rough single trail (with steel cables) towards the Dachstein Südwandhütte.
Day 5	Dachstein Südwandhütte - Guttenberg Haus Walking time: 6 hours / Ascent: 900m / Descent: 400m From the Dachstein Südwandhütte we ascend the "Edlgriess", an alpine bowl on the south side of the Koppenkarstein (2700m). The path leads us over a high valley to the Guttenberghaus. Optionally we can climb a Via Ferrata (C/D) half way to the hut.
Day 6	Guttenberg Haus - Krippenstein - Obertraun On this day we traverse "Am Stein", which is a huge carst plateau on the east side of the Dachstein range. There is very little water on the plateau and we walk on a single trail to the north, reaching the Krippenstein (2100m). A cable car brings us down to Lake Hallstatt, where we take a taxi ride back to Gosau. In the afternoon we drive back to Salzburg.
Day 7	Depart Austria and take your flight back to the UK.

Prices are based on groups of 4-8 people. We would recommend that you arrive in Salzburg no later than 10am on Day One of the itinerary.
