Skiing or Snowboarding at the Puy Saint Vincent ski slope...
Now that autumn is here and winter just around the corner Activus Outdoors are offering a week of unforgettable winter fun based in Puy Saint Vincent. This year, the range of dates and activities on offer are greater than ever and for those of you that don't yet know, Puy St. Vincent is a heaven for freeriders, even on the foggiest and snowiest winter days.
- Expert guidance
- Freeride Clinic workshop
- Picturesque landscape
- Family oriented
We can also organise a 3 day ski workshop at our Freeride Clinic, where you will learn about safe off piste skiing/snowboarding under the expert guidance of a certified guide (See Activities Information for more details).
During your stay you have the option to try out French food at the recently renovated Chaumiere Lodge at specially negotiated prices. The lodge has a large lounge where you can chill out after a long day on the slopes, do some video analysis of your skiing and watch ski or snowboard films. Later in the evening, the Chaumiere Lodge opens its club area and the whole place comes alive as an apres ski. There is also a nearby spa centre should you wish to ease your sore limbs and there are ample shopping opportunities in the narrow streets of the ancient citadel of Briancon.

The biggest mistake people can make is to take their skiing off piste with no knowledge or expert guidance using improper equipment and in dangerous conditions. Due to increasing media exposure, Freeride skiing has become very fashionable and accidents outside official slopes are on the increase. We want all our clients to experience the thrill of deep snow as safely as possible, because mother nature never sleeps and we rarely get more than one opportunity to do things right in high alpine terrain.
From what we hear from our clients and partners, there are a number of agencies offering Freeride Clinics and guided tours, but unfortunately many do not have the qualifications, equipment and experience required to safely and successfully carry out such projects.
The PSV Freeride Clinic run by our Outdoor Academy now provides our clients with expert professional tuition so you can venture off-piste confident in the knowledge that you have gained the necessary skills to keep you safe whilst enjoying your boarding or skiing in the future.
Our expert guides and lecturers have all the necessary licenses and qualifications and a ton of real life experience in the field. We also provide all the required equipment (avalanche beacon, shovel, probe and helmet) that is essential for all participants. Avalanche equipment, Avalungs, Freeride skis and other equipment is also available for rent upon prior reservation.
The Freeride Clinic includes lessons in:
- choice of terrain
- safe movement in the mountains
- basic first aid techniques
